Based on William Steig’s book Shrek! and the DreamWorks Animation film, this fun family affair tells the story of a swamp-dwelling ogre who goes on a life-changing adventure to reclaim the deed to his land. Joined by a wise-cracking donkey, the unlikely hero Shrek fights a fearsome dragon, rescues a feisty princess, and learns that real friendship and true love aren’t found only in fairy tales. The characters of Shrek and other inhabitants of Far, Far Away come to life in Shrek the Musical with book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole) and music by Olivier Award winner Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie and Caroline, or Change). Executive producer of 3-D Theatricals, T.J. Dawson, stars in the title role.
